A wisdom tooth is more often replaced and is plucked out as it is discovered to be the cause many dangerous gum and tooth diseases. It creates many troubles and its solution is to get rid of it by plucking it out from your tooth structure.

The most probable problem with the wisdom tooth is that it does not grow in a proper position that further creates a number of oral problems. This further gives call to a number of complications which is mentioned as under:

  • Wisdom tooth is prone to infect your gums. When the tooth has a partially broken surface the bacteria easily gets accumulated in it. This further penetrates in your gums and affects them badly.   • When the wisdom tooth gets impacted, they sac surrounds the teeth and fill it with fluid. It forms cyst that damages the jawbone, teeth and nerves causing serious and dangerous outcomes.

There is no other that visiting regularly to the dentist to have an idea about your wisdom tooth being impacted. The removal of infected wisdom tooth is helpful in avoiding a number of other problems.

The best time to have a wisdom tooth is between the age group of 16 to 19. But if it grows at as later age the removal becomes difficult due to the dense jawbone.

Removal process - the wisdom tooth is firstly examined in preliminary examination that includes X-rays and other important dental tests. Then the patient’s dental history is considered. The local anesthetic is made using the nitrous oxide also known as laughing gas. Also in some cases, patients are recommended not to drink and eat a night before the treatment. After the surgery is conducted, few of the appointments are made necessary to have a fast and protected healing process.

Also there are a number of risks attached to the surgery:

Dry Socket: After the wisdom tooth is removed mostly a blood clot gets formed to heal it fast. It helps in quick healing but if any how it gets washed away, the patient faces problems like steady and throbbing pain of dry socket, swelling and lots more.

Also sometimes the nerves near the wisdom teeth go numb. But the fortunate part is that the nerves repair it without requiring any medication.

During the Process of healing, you should drink lot of liquids and should consume soft food items. The hard and crunchy food substances should be avoided during the process of healing.

Avoid brushing the adjoining teeth at least for few days after surgery. It will disturb the healing process and can cause irritation or sometimes lead to bleeding of gums. Avoid alcohol and you should not mix it with pain medication.
